Tavan PTO Leadership Team (Voting Roles)

Tavan PTO Leadership Board positions are voting roles and play a key part in guiding decisions, setting priorities, and ensuring the PTO operates in the best interest of Tavan students, staff, and families. Leadership team members collaborate closely, attend monthly meetings, and vote on matters such as budgets, events, and initiatives that support our school community. 

To serve in these positions, candidates must be voted in by the Tavan community during the PTO Elections held in April of the current school year.


PTO President
Provides overall leadership for the PTO, runs meetings, and works closely with the school administration to support students, staff, and PTO initiatives. Average Time Commitment: ~4–6 hours per month (higher during major events)

Vice President
Supports the President and helps coordinate PTO events and committees. Steps in as needed to assist with planning and execution throughout the year and serves as backup leadership. Average Time Commitment: ~4–6 hours per month

Secretary
Keeps meeting notes, maintains records, and helps ensure clear communication and organization within the PTO. Average Time Commitment: ~2–3 hours per month

Treasurer
Manage PTO finances including budgeting, tracking income and expenses, preparing reports, and ensure funds are handled responsibly. Average Time Commitment: ~4–6 hours per month (slightly higher during seasonal peaks)

Director of Communications
Oversees PTO communications, including newsletters, social media, flyers, and website updates, ensuring families stay informed and engaged. Average Time Commitment: ~3–5 hours per month

Director of Dads Club
Leads and coordinates dad-focused involvement opportunities, events, and volunteer efforts that support the school and build community. Average Time Commitment: ~2–4 hours per month (event-dependent)

Director of Fundraising
Plans and oversees fundraising efforts, sponsorship opportunities, and helps maximize funds raised to support school programs. Average Time Commitment: ~4–6 hours per month (higher during major fundraisers)
