Wildcat Quick Start Guide

  1. Stay Connected - Create your ParentSquare Account
    • ParentSquare is the primary communication tool used by Tavan and the Scottsdale Unified School District to keep families informed and connected. With ParentSquare, you’ll receive important updates from the school, classroom messages from teachers, event reminders, and more all in one place.

You can access ParentSquare by visiting ParentSquare.com or by downloading the free ParentSquare app to your phone for easy access on the go.

    • Be sure to set up your account and verify your contact info so you don’t miss a thing!

  2. Be Lunch Ready - Create a LINQ Connect Account
    • LINQ Connect is the secure online system used to manage your child’s school meal account. With LINQ Connect, you can easily add funds, set up recurring payments, and track your student’s meal activity all from your computer or mobile device. Get started at LinqConnect.com or download the free LINQ Connect app for convenient access anytime.
    • Tip: Make sure your child’s account has funds available daily, students scan their school ID in the lunch line to pay.

  3. Get Involved - Complete your SUSD Volunteer/Chaperone Application
    • Want to help in the classroom, join a field trip, or support school events? All parents and guardians must complete the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) Volunteer/Chaperone Application each school year to participate. The application includes a background check to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students.

    • Your application approval remains in place for three consecutive years. Tavan staff will maintain the “approved to volunteer” list.

    • *Attention 5th grade families: Planning to chaperone the 5th grade Outdoor Ed trip? Adults will also need a fingerprint clearance card, so plan ahead as this is a timely process! (Obtaining your fingerprint card does not guarantee your involvement in the Outdoor Ed trip, but it sure helps to have this done ahead of time as it does take time to process.)

Apply online here: SUSD Volunteer/Chaperone Application

Important Tavan Terms

Dining for Dollars – All Year Long!

Support Tavan just by enjoying a meal out! Throughout the year, we partner with local restaurants to host Dining for Dollars (D4D) nights. A portion of your purchase goes directly back to our school from everyone who participates! Flyers and digital reminders will be sent home before each event with all the details (date, location, and any special instructions). Eat local, support Tavan, and take the night off from cooking!

Literacy Day – Every Thursday!

Thursdays are for words at Tavan! Students are encouraged to wear a school-appropriate shirt with words, phrases, or sentences to celebrate Literacy Day. It’s a fun, creative way to promote a love of reading and language through self-expression. If you can read it, you can wear it

Spirit Day – Every Friday!

Show your Wildcat pride every Friday by wearing your Tavan gear or dressing in blue and green, our official school colors! Students, staff, and families join in to celebrate school spirit, unity, and a strong Wildcat community. Let’s end each week with Tavan pride! Go Wildcats!
