Each month, the Tavan PTO plans a Staff Appreciation Day in the Teacher's Lounge to show some love to our wonderful teachers and staff!
This year, we’d love to get more of our Tavan families involved in the fun! Each grade level is assigned a month and will help plan that month’s Staff Appreciation Day.
We’re looking for at least 4-5 volunteers from each grade (but the more, the merrier!) to work together to come up with an idea, plan the details and help make the day special for our staff.
How it works:
• PTO will provide your group with a budget for the month.
• Budgets will be based on funds raised through our Dining for Dollars events, and we’ll let your group know the amount before planning begins.
• Your group will schedule the day and go to the school to set it up - you can get creative with how you use the budget—breakfast, lunch, snacks, treats, drinks, a fun theme or another way to spoil our staff! (see ideas below)
• PTO will be here to help with questions and coordination along the way.
You don’t have to do it alone! Grab a few friends, sign up for your grade’s month and help us make our Tavan teachers and staff feel extra appreciated. ❤️
Ideas for Monthly Lunch Themes (September – May)
- September: "Back to School Fuel" – A healthy salad bar or baked potato bar to start the year strong.
- October: "Fall Feast" – Homemade soups, chili, and cornbread in slow cookers.
- November: "Gratitude Potluck" – Traditional Thanksgiving-style sides and desserts.
- December: "Holiday Brunch" – Quiches, bagels, fruit, and a hot cocoa station.
- January: "Soup & Sandwich Shindig" – Warm comfort food to beat the winter cold.
- February: "Love Our Teachers" – Italian theme with pastas, garlic bread, and red-themed treats.
- March: "Taco/Nacho Bar" – Build your own taco station with various toppings (guacamole is a must!).
- April: "Around the World" – Parents bring dishes representing their cultural heritage.
- May: "Garden Picnic" – Fresh sandwiches, fruit skewers, and cold salads for Teacher Appreciation Week.
